Mahayana Refuge Retreat
June 18th - 23, 2012
When we practice refuge we are entering the Buddhist path to liberation and enlightenment. We attain permanent freedom from suffering by sincerely relying upon the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Dharma is like medicine that prevents the sufferings of samsara, Buddha is the doctor who gives us this medicine, and the Sangha are the nurses who assist us.
On this retreat we have a perfect opportunity to deepen our experience of refuge. Everyone is welcome to attend any session; this retreat is free.
The sessions are about 1 and 1/2 hours long, self-guided, and copies of prayers and a session guide will be available at the Temple.
