Weekend Classes at the Dallas Temple
Come and enjoy drop-in meditation classes at our newly renovated 8500 square foot downtown Dallas Temple! The Temple offers an ideal setting to learn about and improve your meditation practice in an inspiring and peaceful environment.
Drop-in classes are offered several times per week and oriented towards those that are new to meditation and Buddhism. Some classes have fees and some are by donation, however no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Morning Meditation
Meditation is an action of our mind and is the main cause of inner peace. When we meditate we are creating the cause of happiness and so happiness will definitely arise for us both now and in the future. Through deepening our understanding and experience of the steps along the path to enlightenment we can not only calm our busy mind, but effect positive inner change and create a deep transformation of our mind and heart.
Sunday Morning meditation includes two guided meditations, a Buddhist teaching for daily life and, chanted prayers in English. We dedicate all of this to world peace. Afterwards spend time meeting like-minded people and enjoying some vegetarian refreshments! Everyone is welcome!
Creating Stillness Within
Week 1 – Meditation Practice For Inner Peace - Disengage your mind from the busyness of everyday life and learn to abide in peace.
Week 2 – Balanced Body & Mind – Developing a special meditation for a health body and mind.
Week 3 – Finding Clarity What is the mind? This class is an exploration of the mind, it's clear nature, and how it functions in our life.
Week 4 – A Peaceful Mind From where do thoughts come and where do they go? This class is an exploration of the root mind, our hearted centered awareness. By learning to control our thoughts and connect with our peaceful heart, we can move swiftly along the spiritual path.
Meditation from the Heart: A Practical Guide
Week 1 – Following qualified instructions- Why we need to rely upon an authentic teacher and teachings
Week 2 – Integrating Mindfulness and Mantra into Daily Life - A daily practice both in and out of meditation to achieve a purification of our state of mind.
Weeks 3-5 – Wise Advice for Life: Buddhist wisdom for a happy and meaningful life based on Advice from Atisha's heart an inspiring and time-honored text.
Both the May and June Series are based on The New Meditation Handbook

Teacher: Gen Kelsang Menla has studied under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years. Gen Menla was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001 and has worked and taught within the New Kadampa Tradition for many years. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.

Sunday Morning: Buddhism for Kids
Due To our special event Sunday, May 19th, children’s class has been Cancelled. A video link will be available. Parents must be with the children.
Each class will include a short meditation, a Buddhist lesson, and activities to help children increase their patience, respect for others and loving kindness.
Class is designed for children in kindergarten and above. We also have a video link for parents with preschoolers, toddlers and infants. Parents are required to sign their child into and out of class and to sit in on the class for their first visit.
A snack is provided during class. Please notify us if your child has any special needs or food allergies.
