What to Expect

There will be no class July 3 due to a concert at the Gardens.

These classes are perfect for beginners! They provide an introduction to meditation and support for starting to practice meditation, mindfulness, and applying Buddhist teachings in daily life.

Class  includes two guided meditations, a talk on Buddhism for everyday living, and time for Q&A. Although part of a monthly series, each class is stand alone. You can drop in at any time. Information on the monthly series can be found below. 

Class is followed by refreshments for those who wish to stay for more conversation.

Teacher

Gen Kelsang Menla has been a practicing Buddhist for 20 years, was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001, and has taught Kadampa Buddhism since that time. Gen Menla has also completed temple renovation projects in Baltimore, Albuquerque and our own temple here in Dallas. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.


Special Summer Guest Teachers 2018

We are happy to announce that this summer we will have a series of visiting guest teachers at our Tuesday evening class! Carol Salerno, Joshua Hauberg, and John McKethan have been practicing and teaching Kadampa Buddhism form many years and bring warmth, clarity, and joy to their teachings.
