Meditating Beyond Inner and Outer Horizons
Guided Meditation and Public Talk at Nasher Sculpture Center
Saturday, November 22 11:30 am - 2 pm
In collaboration with the Nasher Sculpture Center, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, Resident Teacher, of Kadampa Meditation Center Texas, presents a special guided meditation and public talk inspired by the work of internationally renowned artist Antony Gormley. The museum has an installation titled Domains , where the artists offers us pieces to help us to distinguish the subtle body from the physical body. Gen Wangpo will offer a Buddhist perspective on body and then guide us through a special and powerful meditation practice.
Following the meditation, participants are invited to join us for an optional tour of the Nasher Garden including artworks by Antony Gormley that acknowledge the body as a place of energy and transformation.
Everyone welcome!
Meditating Beyond Inner and Outer Horizons
From the earliest moments of our life we have related to our body mostly in its physical form. Gen Wangpo will guide us in looking inwards, perceiving our body's subtle aspects so we can view a pure potential within. Inspired by the idea of horizons, we will further the meditation in a way that extends beyond ourselves and helps shape the world. Relying on our visualization and concentration, you'll discover ways to relate to yourself and the world around you that inspire a sense of potential and purity.
