Targeting the Illusion

Emptiness Course and Retreat

Buddha explained that the way things appear is not how they exist - that every appearance to an ordinary mind is a mistaken appearance. He described everything we experience as like an illusion or a reflection, like a rainbow, or like a dream.

Since seeing things correctly involves eliminating our mistaken appearance, in this course we will particularly emphasize identifying the object of our mistaken appearance, known as the object of negation. When we have identified it, we can eliminate it. Then we will be left with nothing but the truth of reality, and peace and happiness. Through practice, our meditations on emptiness will fulfill all of our wishes.

In this 2-day course, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Texas, will share the profound meaning of emptiness - the way things really are - so that we can develop an unmistaken perception of reality through meditation. With this wisdom, we are free from all the problems that are associated with our mistaken appearances -- which, as it happens, are all of our problems!

Everyone is welcome to learn more about this wisdom which fulfills our deepest wishes!
