Emptiness: The Absence of Limitations
A Meditation Series at KMC Texas
with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Menla
Sundays from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm
Feel free to drop in at any point in the series. Everyone is welcome!
Join us for classes on the beautiful and liberating topic of emptiness. Emptiness in Buddhism is the way things actually exist rather than the way they seem to exist. Understanding and realizing emptiness releases our mind from mistaken perceptions which are the basis of the tension, grasping, conflict and pain within our body and mind.
For us, everything seems to be independent. We ourselves, others, the world and everything in it appear to be defined by a fixed set of characteristics, separate from our own mind and other conditions. These are our mistaken perceptions, which can cause us to feel powerless.
When we investigate the things we normally perceive with the wisdom of Buddha, we see through our mistaken minds and find only their true nature, their emptiness. Seeing the truth of emptiness in our own experience frees us from our suffering and perceived limitations, and bestows upon us a peace, joy and liberation that cannot be found elsewhere.
In these classes, Gen Menla will guide us through a thoughtful exploration of the true nature of the body, the mind and the self. Join us for what will prove to be an empowering set of teachings and meditations which will connect us with the peace of emptiness.
