Quiet the Noise

How to Begin Meditating

Life is loud. The whole world is loud. Everything is calling for our attention - people, places, entertainments - and our phones are often with us, updating us on anything and everything!

Quiet the noise.

Join us for an afternoon of meditation. We can turn off our phones. Leave the world behind. Go inwards. And then, discover how to create peace and quiet within. It isn't enough to turn everything off if our mind is like a wild elephant stampeding through a village. We need to learn to calm the mind and find peace.

Our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, will lead a guided experience and teach the methods of meditation. You will discover the purpose of meditation - enjoying a calm and peaceful mind. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Everyone is welcome!
