Dallas Tuesday Evening - Understanding and Transforming the Mind
A Ten Week Meditation Series at KMC Texas
with Jennifer Weisensel
Tuesdays from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Feel free to drop in at any point in the series. Everyone is welcome!
Our mind has many parts to it and the quality of our mind depends upon the quality of its parts, or mental factors. These parts can lead to peace and happiness, or, they can lead to unhappiness and pain. We need to understand the parts that create pain, but we also need to understand and become familiar with the positive parts of our mind that are the sources of peace, joy and freedom. This understanding is not intellectual, but an experience of personal insight that comes through meditative awareness and reflection on Buddhist wisdom.
Through gaining special insight we will be inspired to put energy into letting go of the negative parts of our mind and cultivating the positive parts instead. In this way we will find deep levels of personal freedom, happiness, and compassion for others that we didn't know were possible.
In this fall series, Jennifer Weisensel will guide us in understanding and developing the experience of 11 positive mental factors that naturally give rise to true happiness. Each class will include a short teaching and associated meditation. Each class stands alone, so drop-in anytime!
