Sunday Morning Meditation

Meditation is an action of our mind and is the main cause of inner peace. When we meditate we are creating the cause of happiness and so happiness will definitely arise for us both now and in the future. Through deepening our understanding and experience of the steps along the path to enlightenment we can not only calm our busy mind, but effect positive inner change and create a deep transformation of our mind and heart.

Sunday Morning meditation includes two guided meditations, a Buddhist teaching for daily life and, chanted prayers in English. We dedicate all of this to world peace. Afterwards spend time meeting like-minded people and enjoying some vegetarian refreshments! Everyone is welcome!

January Topic: The Four Noble Truths

Buddha long ago pointed out that though humans universally seek happiness it consistently eludes them, and though they seek to avoid suffering it falls upon them like rain. The root of the problem, he taught, is a deep ignorance about the nature of happiness and suffering and their causes. In his famous teaching on the Four Noble Truths Buddha explained:

  • The truth about suffering

  • The true causes of suffering

  • How to achieve a true cessation of suffering

  • The true path that leads to that cessation

This Series is based on The New Meditation Handbook

The New Meditation Handbook is a practical guide to meditation that teaches us how to make ourself and others happy by developing inner peace, and in this way making our lives more meaningful. The 21 meditations presented in this book are spiritual methods to control our mind and experience lasting inner peace. This extremely practical guide is an indispensable handbook for those seeking happiness and meaning in their lives.

Learn more about the 21 meditations here.
